⚒️ Resources

A wildly incomplete list of helpful job boards, newsletters, people, networks and more. Some of these are personal projects and may not be active and updated forever but all are fabulous.

  • All Tech is Human runs the Responsible Tech Careers and Job Board. Most roles found there are in for-profit companies. There are also some nonprofit, foundation, and think tank type roles.
  • So, You Want To Work in Climate...that's not rhetorical. It's the name of an amazing resource put together by Nicole Kelner. It includes job boards, newsletters, communities, events and more.
  • Follow Justin Daugherty on LinkedIn to see links to jobs in climate communications.
  • Public Solutions Jobs is a job board for roles in policy, public good research and more. Basically, they're helping find homes for people working in public service whose lives were overturned when Trump and DOGE decided to toss the Monopoly board in the air and storm off like the immature fools they are.
  • The folks at All Hands run a huge jobs list and matchmaking service for people looking for roles in nonprofits and social good tech. They also run a Slack community where jobs get posted weekly and a lot of people support one another in their search.
  • A friend recommended Never Search Alone, a book by Phyl Terry. Best part might be the hundreds of job search councils, local and sector support groups, supported by the book.
  • Democracy Notes, run by Gabriel Lerner, shares out pro-democracy roles in nonprofits, think tanks, foundations and more.
  • A Job Opportunities list set up by Pi-Isis Stefana Ankhra.
  • Progressive Job Resources is a brilliant compilation of job lists, boards and groups curated and shared by Allison Ehrich Bernstein.
  • Mandy Hofmockel runs Journalism Jobs and a Photo of My Dog and it is a super compilation of solid news and media roles plus insights on the sector’s hiring trends.
  • Rebecca Aguilar compiles a great list of Journalism Jobs.
  • Matt Lockshin’s Job list a super source for roles in progressive organizing and digital leadership. Matt also provides recruiting and job search services.
  • Tech Jobs for Good includes hundreds of current tech roles in nonprofits and companies that support nonprofits.
  • Ethical Tech Job Resources is a list of job lists mostly centered around progressive technology in the US and UK. It’s built by the community and maintained by me and Edward Saperia, Dean of Newspeak House in London.
  • Words of Mouth is a weekly newsletter run by Rachel Meade Smith. Words has a fantastic set of new roles in the arts, writing and editing, creative professions.
  • Follow Mandy Van Deven on LinkedIn to get news on open roles in philanthropy and social change leadership around the world. Mandy also shares insights on narrative and systems change.
  • Check out The Nonprofit Hive if you’re working in/around nonprofits and would like to connect with new folks via real conversations. Not job specific but a brilliant way to build a network and learn alongside peers.
  • Daniel Levitt’s Inside the Newsroom newsletter seems to be a solid resource for journalism jobs.
